Hickory Flavored Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Recipe Seriously Good Eating!

Because it’s way (WAY) too hot here in Vegas, we’re skipping the grill recipes, skipping the oven baking homemade cupcakes, and heading straight to the slow cooker. How’s Slow Cooker BBQ Beef sound? Hickory flavored slow cooker BBQ beef to be exact! Good, right??!! I was tasked with giving Kraft Recipe Makers a go and that I did! You can find Recipe Makers in seven different flavors and choose from slow cooker, skillet or oven varieties. I totally went with slow cooker, Vegas… HOT… It was a great choice! Let’s see how that all went down…

Slow Cooker BBQ Beef

I’ve made quite a few slow cooker recipes in my day. But for real, this one has got to be THE easiest. If slow cooker BBQ beef was even hard to begin with… For this Recipe Makers variety, all you need is a boneless beef chuck roast and sandwich buns. That’s it ya’ll!! Since I’m doing the old taste tasting, I followed the super easy directions as the box suggested.

Take your ground chuck roast, place in slow cooker, and the first of 2 special sauces — brown sugar & cider vinegar. Let it cook on for about 6 hours. Shred up your meat and add the 2nd  special sauce—the sweet hickory BBQ finishing sauce. Give it another 10-15 minutes on high to let the hickory flavor incorporate into the meat and done! Serve up on some great buns and enjoy! Next time, the only thing I would change, is adding some onions. I love BBQ beef with onions. Maybe it’s the Chicago girl in me? Ethan is most defiantly not an onion lover, so he ate not one but 2 whole sandwiches by himself. We whipped up some homemade coleslaw and dinner was a huge hit! We popped in his new favorite movie and even made a little picnic in front of the TV with him. Can I just say, this slow cooker BBQ beef not only got me out of sweating over dinner for a change but really gave us a whole day of playtime this weekend. Awesome since school is starting soon and those kind of days won’t come as often!

You can check out this and all seven varieties in your local Safeway (or affiliate) store. Head over to the meat section. It should be stocked over within the “Meal Starters” section. We picked up a box of Asian Fish Tacos for next weekend too! I’ll be sure to let you know how those go over! I for one am a huge fan of fish tacos!

I just tried the Kraft Recipe Makers — the Sweet & Sour Chicken one and it was really good! And I soooo agree about our Vegas heat! I have not been motivated to cook AT ALL.
