Mom’s Coffee Break – Chocolate Java Chip Dipping Sauce

My first coffee break starts at… Oh, about 5AM. I’m up bright and early. Getting some work in before everyone wakes up. Making breakfast, packing lunches, the morning drill. By noon, I’m beat. But working from home doesn’t mean laying around watching soaps and eating bon-bons, right? It means working. Just at home. Ok, so I get to wear yoga pants and a ponytail but still. I have to put in a full 10 hour day. These blogs and recipes don’t write themselves ya’ll! I take my coffee break seriously. It’s that 1/2 hour of getting away from the screen, clearing my head and recharging.

We all know Green Mountain Coffee is awesome. From ground to K-Cups, it’s perfect for any cup, right? Now, it’s also perfect iced! Yep! Right in your grocer’s cooler! No more fancy coffee house price but all the  milk, cream, and 100% Arabica beans you want for a bold, smooth espresso flavor. My coffee break just got a whole lot easier! Grab a glass, fill with some ice and pour! You can pick some up in Mocha and Vanilla flavors. And, right now, you can try them for yourself with a $1.00 off coupon from coupons.com. At this time of year, this would go awesome with my Orange Cranberry Cupcakes for a perfect little coffee break! Over the weekend, I made Ethan this Bacon & Sausage Loaded Breakfast Casserole, and I had a huge cup of the Vanilla Iced Latte. But, I thought… HHmm… What-else could I make to amp up my me-time? And, here’s what I came up with!

Directions:

  • Allow cream cheese to warm to room temperature. In medium bowl,  beat until fluffy.
  • Add 1/4 cup coffee and mix well.  Add remaining coffee and beat until fully mixed.

  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour into a container and chill for at least an hour.
