My Hot Mom – How Does She Do It? Raising Strong Girls

So, yesterday was my daughter’s birthday. I know, you can say it. You look too young. You sure are a hot mom! You can’t possibly have a daughter that old! (no really, say it!!) 😉 There’s so many hopes, wishes, and dreams that I had for both my girls. But, in the end they go on and do what they will do. Just as I did before with my own mom. I’ve always tried to instill in both of them a few important things. Don’t aim to be ‘the hot girl’... Beauty fades and you’re left with nothing. Be ‘the cute girl’. Cute is not about how you look, it’s about how you portray yourself. Carry your intelligence, humor and heart in front of your looks. When the looks fade, you are still left with all that cute! Never let someone treat you less than you are, never walk behind your significant other. Walk beside and with them. Like a window, you should open your heart up. But keep a screen on to keep out those flies. If you spend so much time worrying about a house that is spotless, you’ll never have a home for your family. And, you can do anything boys can do. Including taking out the garbage and killing spiders. That’s my secret formula on How To Be A Hot Mom Raising Strong Girls. Pretty simple, eh?

But, as we all are busy growing up and learning life lessons we can’t forget one of the biggies. Keeping yourself healthy. You’ll never be a hot mom raising strong girls of your own if you don’t do that part, right? Living in Vegas, we always get to drinking plenty of water. We’ve even started ‘lightening’ up our recipes a bit. But Jess isn’t a milk drinker. Never has been. 80% of teen girls do not get enough calcium in their daily diets. And, 95% of bone mass happens by the time girls turn 20. So part of being a hot mom is making sure our girls are getting the calcium they need to have strong bones for life. Because, menopause! It sucks it right out of ya my friends.

We both started adding Viactiv® to our diets recently. Her to keep building strong bones, me to keep what I’ve got going on. It provides your daily dose of calcium, plus vitamins D3 & K. Bonus, it tastes pretty good! Soft and chewy caramel and chocolate flavors. Not at all medicine-y hard to swallow horse pills! Right, those! You know the kind.

To help YOU be a hot mom raising strong girls, there’s a giveaway on the Viactiv Facebook page celebrating the brand’s 15th birthday. 15 monthly winners announced on the 15th of each month! (see what they did there??) They are also sharing bone building tips, exercises and all kinds of good stuff from registered dietitian/nutritionist, Heidi Diller. Pop over and like the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Viactiv to enter and share! Find Viactiv at Walmart, Rite Aid, CVS, Target, Walgreens, and drugstore.com. #ViactivYoursandHers is the official # so give that a search too!

Now, share how you’re being a hot mom raising strong girls! Go on! Don’t be shy!
