Good Morning Sunshine – Making Memories

Good Morning Sunshine – Wakey Wakey

Good morning sunshine….. Wakey, wakey little pan-a-cakey….. Yep. That’s how I wake Ethan up. Every. Single . Morning. That’s how I woke all the kids up when they were little too. And, they hated it. It meant time to get out of their nice warm beds and drag themselves off to school. 10 years later, guess what? They miss it! We laugh and joke now as they wake their own small fries up the exact same way. Funny how even little things like that carry over, huh? Starting each day with ‘Good morning sunshine’ as the 1st things those little ears hear has got to start their day better than a big booming voice yelling ‘GET UP’…

Good Morning Sunshine – Making Memories

Since Summer vacation is in full swing here in Vegas, I’m not having to Wakey Wakey my little pan-a-cakey so much. He’s sleeping in like a champ. It’s still “Good morning sunshine” when he stumbles out of bed. Because habit? Making memories? I’m not sure. But the other day my husband surprised him with a special Breakfast For The Boys kind of morning. Let’s just say I’ve never seen his little tushie get dressed so fast without prodding in a long time! He was excited to spend the morning at his fav hang-out. McDonald’s. Remind me to tell you about our ‘squishy tushie’ game some other time 😉

Look at how happy they are! They each got their favorite “yummy in my tummy’s” and then played on the playground after. It was a perfect place for a perfect special time. Isn’t it funny when you stop and think…. This is one of the only places that’s not simply a grab and go burger joint. It’s an American Icon. Think about – How young are kids when they see those golden arches and immediately know where they are? Generation after generation, it’s etched in everyone’s mind in someway, right? Everyone comes out happy. Oh, And don’t go feeling sad that I got left behind at home! No, I stayed under the blankie for a bit. Just 2 guys, out and about making memories. I do love McDonald’s coffee in the morning so it was kind of awesome my husband brought me a big ole cup home! Good Morning Sunshine!

I love me some McDonalds fries!! I wake my kids up the same way! “Good morning Sunshine” :). My favorite childhood memories involve playing with my cousins at my granny’s house on the old rickety swing set 🙂

I have very fond memories of going to McDonald’s with my grandpa as a child. I remember that whenever I was really sick and had to stay home from school, he would come and get me and drive me to McDonald’s, then we would go home and play video games together!

I think some of my favorite memories from childhood I would say would be when my mom would come in my room around 3am wake me up and say lets go shopping. I always thought she was crazy but they are the memories that stuck with me.

My kids usually only go to McD’s with their grandparents. I tend to forget just how awesome their playspaces are. Fun outing!

It is so nice to have kids and parents spend some one on one time. With three kids it is tough but a quick breakfast is a great way to do it.

I have some really great memories involving the McDonald’s play area. The play area was the bomb. The only thing that would have made it better was if I was wearing a super cool pig shirt like the guy in this post.

McDonald’s has been part of my childhood and still is up to now. One of my favorite memories of when I was a kid were our Saturdays & Sundays. I look forward to waking up early because I know my Mom’s at home and she would cook practically everything that my brother and I love. Aside from that, we get an overload of cartoons during weekends. Most of these years, there wasn’t cable yet.

So stinking cute! I love it. My parents used to sing their version of their college fight song, “Rise and shout, the sunshine is out, it’s a bright and beautiful morning…” I secretly love it, and sometimes do it to my kids.

I have to say that McDonald’s pancakes are darn good. I like their breakfast pastry options too. Oh now, I’m gonna have to go there this weekend. As for memories, saying that big long McDonald’s “two all beef patties” phrase comes to mind. That was such a cool advertising promo.

I use to love waking my kids with cute little songs and putting them to bed, it is fun to sing it now when they are all in their twenties. Using cute knick names too.
