Chicago Blackhawks In ‘Da House Hockey Party Fishin’ For A Win

Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Party

Thanks to Collective Bias and Pepperidge Farms Goldfish Puffs for sponsoring this Hockey Party post!

Chicago Blackhawks In ‘Da House Hockey Party Fishin’ For A Win

We moved out of Chicago in 1996. I miss it terribly most days. Well, except when there’s snow to shovel and the windchill is -10. Then, not so much. The kids and I get our love of all things Chicago sports from my dad. A die hard Cubs and Blackhawks fan until the day he died. He’d have us either in the stands for games or parked in front of the TV watching and cheering on both of our favorite teams. Good year, bad year, didn’t matter. It’s about the loyalty and love for your team. When Pepperidge Farm asked me to try their new snack Goldfish Puffs out on the teens in my house, I knew what I had to do! Game 5 of the Stanley Cup playoff’s was coming up, we were going to have our own hockey party, fishin’ for win? You bet!

Hockey Party Fishin’ For A Win – Snack Stock-up

Every great hockey party needs some great snacks. I found the Goldfish Puffs at Target right alongside the classic Goldfish we all grew up loving. At only $2.99 a bag and with 3 bold flavors to choose from, I grabbed one of each. I mean, come on! There’s Buffalo Wing flavored puffs! They may be great for teen snacks, but I was thinking I’d get into this bag just as much as them! Note to self – next time, buy 2.  Since we make meatloaf with the classic Goldfish crackers, I’m thinking about a switch-a-roo with the bacon cheddar flavor next time. They may be awesome for everday snacking, but we cook with them as well! I also hit up the craft store to grab some white board to make a sign. You can’t have a proper hockey party without decorations as well, right? Check out my whole shopping trip here and see what other goodies I found!

Because we’re on the west coast, our hockey party was going to be shortly before dinner. I already had a roast going in the crock pot so I set up our snack table for just enough to tide the gang over until after the game ended. Well, I thought it was enough… My 2 kiddos each invited a friend over to watch the match and enjoy our hockey party. Plus, all 3 small fry’s were getting in on the action. Remember the note to self above? Add to that – Never under-estimate the snacking power of teens. Buy 3 bags each.

Also, remind little Ms. Susie Party Planner in me that they will be dragging those snacks over to the TV, plopping themselves on the couch and grabbing a front row seat. My awesome hockey party table set-up lasted all of about 10 minutes. Which turned out to be pretty funny. I was in the kitchen and I could hear all the laughing and chatter. And then…. GOOOOOOAAAAL….. The small fry’s really didn’t care whether it was a commercial or the Blackhawks on the screen. They just loved raising their hands and yelling GOOOOAAAL.

All in all, our hockey party with the new Goldfish Puffs was a total success! My daughter was happy they are gluten free so she could get her snack on and all 3 new flavors were really pretty tasty. And really, you know you’re on to something when those 3 sweet little faces all give you a thumbs up, right?! I’m also happy to say our Blackhawks won game 5 and will be taking down Boston on Monday night to bring that Stanley cup on home to Chicago!

Don’t forget to grab yourself a few bags and try out the new Goldfish Puffs for yourself! To keep up with all the latest and greatest, Tweet along on Twitter and #makeitgopuff.
