Milky Way Caramel & Chocolate Brownie Cupcakes

Convo with my husband:

ME: “I have to go to Walmart and pick up some bite sized candyfor these brownie cupcakes I want to make. What flavor do you want me to grab?”
HIM: “You mean they make other kinds of candy than Milky Way?”
ME: “……..” {Milky Way Bites it was for these brownie cupcakes.}

Walmart MARS Candy Brownie Cupcakes

I was hungry. Big mistake. Because I bought a bag of each. Don’t judge. Thankfully, there’s a coupon and I didn’t feel too guilty. But after eating a whole bag of Twix Bites, I got down to business. Come, let me show you!
Oh wait, if you came here looking for the TWIX Cookie Bars (or do you call them Blondies??) Go HERE For that recipe!

Milky Way Brownie Cupcakes Ingredients

Milky Way Brownie Cupcakes Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Box Devil’s Food Chocolate Cake/Brownie Mix
  • 1 Bag Milky Way Bites Candy
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Butter (softened)
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • 2 TSP Vanilla

DIRECTIONS:

To start our Milky Way Brownie Cupcakes we need to preheat the oven to 350*. Line pans with some really cute cupcake liners. 1 of my favorites are these. They have colors for every season and flavor!! Like that cute leopard print and even 4th of July themed, which is right around the corner you guys!
(This recipe will make 24 homemade cupcakes)

In a mixer, combine the box mix, eggs, sour cream, milk, butter and vanilla. Mix until it’s super smooth and lump free. I always say… ‘Dem lumps are yucky! Fill liners and plop 1 Milky Way Bites into each. Use a toothpick or tip of your finger to poke it down until completely covered. Now lick your finger. It’s fun. And yummy! Since all oven’s can vary, bake for 18-22 minutes. Use that good, never fail ‘toothpick comes out clean’ trick to test yours. Are they done? Sweet. (pun intended) Set those aside on cooling rack. While they are cooling off, we’re going to start on the Caramel coated Cream Cheese Frosting. Can’t frost a hot cupcake, right?

Milky Way Caramel & Chocolate Brownie Cupcakes | Sassy Girlz Blog

For the Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting, you’ll need –

  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon caramel syrup
  • 4-5 cups powdered sugar

Have you let the kids lick the batter from the 1st bowl? Ok, maybe you did that yourself. Totally not judging ya, I did it myself since Ethan was at school. I mean, someone had to, right? 😉 Ok, wash it out and mix all the frosting ingredients until you get those lumps out again. When the cupcakes have cooled, we’re ready to frost those babies! Since the Milky Way Bites are perfectly sized to pop on top, use that as a cute garnish! Then, for some extra YUM, drizzle some caramel sauce over the top too. Because, obviously.

And that my cupcakes lovers, means it’s time to eat! ENJOY!
