Moms On Time Out – Pomegranate Tea & Citrus Rum Chiller

So, before we get to the actual Mom’s On Time Out Rum Chiller a quick little story….

Since my daughter became a mom, it’s been kind of interesting to see our rolls change, merge, evolve, grow … And even sometimes blur over the lines. I’ve watched her go from being in time out to needing a time out. I’ve especially loved watching her lose her mind and need the time out. Because, payback for driving me crazy is awesome. Anyways, when Mother’s Day past a couple weeks ago, my daughter had to work. We didn’t spend the day together as usual. So, this past weekend, I surprised her with a special Mom’s Day Out (an adult time out, if you will) Here’s how that all went down….

Bigelow Tea Moms Time Out

I pumped myself up with a morning cup of Bigelow Vanilla Chai. It’s delicious! Have you tried it yet?? Do it! Just trust me on this one. I love that I can find it in Walmart and it’s usable in K cup fashion. Quick, hot and oh so yummy! My go to when I’m not doing the coffee. Every single time. I love supporting family owned American businesses. And, Ethan loves to do crafts with the little foil wrapper the bags come in. Pick yourself up some next time you’re out and about!

Bigelow Tea Walmart Time Out

Speaking of Walmart, before I took my girl on her surprise outing, I had to pick up a few things to make her favorite dinner. And then I remembered… SUN TEA! Yep, living in Vegas means we have the ability to make sun tea all year round pretty much. My favorite is always the Green Tea with Pomegranate. But! I’ve mixed it up a couple times and did 1/2 Ginger, 1/2 Lemongress and Oh My Lanta…. Yes, you need to try that as well ya’ll! I grabbed our dinner fixin’s and then…

Mom's Time Out Mani / Pedi

This totally happened! We went and had a mother / daughter mani – pedi day! Vibrating chairs, the whole she-bang! It was so nice to treat her for the day. When you have little girls you get the tiny tea cup, hair braiding, nail paining parties, right? Well, I sort of carried that over but made it more ‘adult like’ and did it with my adult daughter! We still had tea. Bigelow Sun Tea naturally. We skipped the hair braiding but totally did the nail painting part! It was really a nice day with my girl.

When we got home, we had her favorite dinner and I made a slight adjustment to the Sun Tea. It started out as Pomegranate Green Tea with fruit slices, right? I added some coconut rum and BAM! Instant cocktail for a warm Vegas evening. Here’s what you do:

  • Pick your favorite fruit flavored Bigelow Tea (make sun tea)
  • Slice up oranges, lemon and limes. Add to sun tea.
  • Serve over ice.
  • For the Mom’s On Time Out Chiller –  add 1 OZ coconut rum per person to the glass prior to serving over ice. Stir.
  • ENJOY!

What’s your favorite way to take (or give!) a mom time out?

You had me at coconut rum….it’s one of my most favorite things and I LOVE it with iced Bigelow Tea. I haven’t had it with the Pomegranate Green Tea though…will have to try that. And what a sweet thing to do for your daughter. #client

I love teas whether they’re prepared cold or hot. 🙂 Our time-out time with our mom is spent by watching Koreanovelas and cleaning the house.

Sounds amazing!! I mean I love pomegranate, tea and coconut rum, so what’s not to like? Also a big fan of vanilla chai, so will be trying the Bigelow brand soon. It’s a lot cheaper than buying it at the big S.
