(NOT) Grandma’s Dutch Apple Pie Boozy Milkshake

Well, unless your Grandma Juice, then it’s totally your Grandma’s Dutch Apple Pie Boozy Milkshake Recipe! Let’s face it, as adults we enjoy ice cream just as much as the kiddies, right? In some cases, more. Totally not judging. I dig my ice cream. I just dig it more with liquor. Because, obviously. My husband has his grandma’s Dutch Apple Pie recipe and makes it for just about every holiday and special occasion. It’s some seriously good pie. So, why not add bourbon, toss it in a blender with ice cream and combine 2 of our favorite things? I couldn’t think of a single reason not to. Today, I’m sharing all that ice creamy goodness. Because, I’m a giver.  Also, I collected 15 of my favorite boozy frozen treats as you know, a special bonus. Double my gifting kind of bonus.  You’re welcome.

Dutch Apple Pie Boozy Milkshake Ingredients

Dutch Apple Pie Boozy Milkshake Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • ½ Apple (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 TBS. Sugar
  • ½ Cup Milk
  • Nutmeg (to taste, dash-ish)
  • 1/2 Oz. Bourbon  (I used Maple Bourbon b/c it is so damn good it makes me cry)
  • 2 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Whipped Cream
  • Dutch Apple Pie Crumble Topping (recipe below)

DIRECTIONS:

Put your chopped apple, sugar, nutmeg, and milk in a blender. Blend until smooth –I hit ‘pulse’ for about 2 minutes so it didn’t turn the apple to mush and still had some ‘bite’. Add bourbon and ice cream. Blend till smooth. Pour into serving glass, top with whipped cream and cooled Apple Pie Topping. This made enough for a huge mason jar plus a bit left-over. Adjust according to servings.

Dutch Apple Pie Topping

 INGREDIENTS:

  • ¼ cup cold butter
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

With a pastry blender or food processor, blend ingredients until crumbly. Spread evenly on a greased cookie sheet and bake for about 10 minutes at *375 degrees, or until lightly browned. Set aside to cool.

Now, how’s that for Dutch Apple Pie?
