Sriracha Garlic Roasted Brussel Sprouts – Not Your Grandma’s Sprouts!

Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Doesn’t make you drool now does it? What if I said that I can changed all that? That I have an Uh.Maze.Ing recipe for Garlic Roasted Brussel Sprouts it will give you a whole new perspective of those little green veggies? Know what the problem is? Someone once made them for you and they boiled them to a horrible green mushy death, right? Oh, the horror. Because for real ya’ll… Roasted Brussel Sprouts are ‘Da Bomb!

True story! I too was a die hard Brussel Sprout hater. Yep. My grandmother did the old ‘boil ’em’ recipe to me too! Oh, I know, so…  EEwww… And then, a beautiful thing happened.  I saw them on sale one time. Being on a budget and feeding your family healthy recipes can be tough, right? Also, you want the small frys to love eating greens.

With a good quality Olive Oil, some of these super green veggies and a bit of garlic, you too can become a Rockstar when it comes to turning these zeros into heroes. Right in your own kitchen! The key is really in the oil. Star makes 3 different varieties: Arbequina for Vegetables, Hojiblanca for Poultry/Fish and Picual for Beef/Lamb. Also, right now you can enter to win a set of all three Oils on the STAR Facebook page!

Trust me? Let’s do this!

Garlic Roasted Brussel Sprouts Ingredients:

  • 1 Lb. Fresh Brussel Sprouts (cleaned, cut in 1/2)
  • 2 TBS Olive Oil
  • 2 Cloves Garlic (mined very thin)
  • 1 TSP Salt
  • Srirach Honey Dipping Sauce (recipe below)
  • Cheesy Dipping Sauce (your choice of fav brand)

Garlic Roasted Brussel Sprouts Directions:

First, let’s wash those sprouts off and cut them in 1/2. Preheat oven to *350. In a skillet, saute the garlic and olive oil for a quick minute, just until heated. Throw those green, beautiful sprouts right in the skillet. Salt to taste. Let them cook up for another quick 2 minutes. Just until they soak up the oil and garlic. We’re not cooking them completely. Place flat on cookie sheet or baking pan. Pop in the oven for 25 minutes. You know they are done when they turn a nice caramelized golden brown. I promise, they will be awesome!

To put these over the top and off the hook, we’re going to whip up some Sriracha Honey Dipping Sauce now. Super quick, super easy and gives them a  nice kick.

Sriracha Honey Dipping Sauce:

  • 1/2 Cup Honey
  • 1-2 TBS Sriracha
  • 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce

Throw all this in a mixing bowl and whisk! Really! That’s it! Add more or less Sriracha to taste. For those who haven’t jumped on the whole Sriracha train yet, or maybe don’t care for the heat, grab your favorite brand of cheese sauce and you’re good to go too! You’ve now erased the green, mush horror myth of the Brussel Sprout AND given the kiddies a new green veg they will love! All on a super tight budget! Win/Win my friends!

The dogs and I both really like brussel sprouts and we like spicy food. I think the next time I get out to the store I will be picking up some brussel sprouts so I can make this.
