Sweet Ginger Grilled Flank Steak With Spicy Watermelon Salsa

I was talking yesterday about how excited I get when grilling season finally comes around, right? Well, today I have some Grilled Flank Steak with Spicy Watermelon Salsa I just have to share! After I was digging around to post yesterday’s recipe, I came across this one. So, we fired up the grill and made it!  I could hear the next door neighbors saying how awesome it smelled floating over the fence. They are nice and all. But, sorry (not sorry) I didn’t ask them to hop over. What? More for me! Don’t judge.

I happened to be out running around and found a great sale on Flank Steak. And, well, I couldn’t help myself.  Do you shop sale items and then plan dinner like I did with this grilled flank steak? I’m kind of a ‘wing it’ gal. But, whatever works, right? So, let me show you what I did here! It’s a super easy marinade you make the night before and then in 30 minutes, you have a perfectly grilled flank steak! Check it out…

Grilled Flank Steak Ingredients

Sweet Ginger Grilled Flank Steak

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2LB Flank Steak
  • 1/3 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 3/4 Cup Molasses
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 2 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 TBS Fresh Ginger (grated fine)
  • 2 Cloves Garlic (minced, fine)
  • Crushed Red Pepper (to taste)

DIRECTIONS:

Grab yourself a large freezer sized zip-loc bag. Place all the ingredients inside along with your flank steak.  Seal the bag up really good! Squish ingredients around to make sure they mix well and place in ‘fridge over night. You can call it good after 5 hours or so, but over night is way better. Get your grill on baby! Set it on high (*425) Remove meat from bag and dump the marinade out. No, you can’t keep it! Raw meat ya’ll… Grill steak for about 8-10 minutes each side with lid closed. Like my buddy Bobby Flay reminds me all the time, let that meat rest now. 8 minutes is good for this size. Cut into nice thin slices. Season with salt & pepper to taste. Also, maybe a wee bit more red pepper?? I posted the Spicy Watermelon Salsa recipe over on the other blog. Make that ahead of time so it’s chilled.

And there ya go! BBQ Dinner is served! Easy, peasy grilled flank steak, done and on the table! Enjoy!
